CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls’ Secondary Choir consists of girls of ages ranging from 13 to 16 years old. The choristers take immense pride in representing their school in performances and competitions, singing an extensive choral repertoire ranging from traditional Asian folk songs, English madrigals to Eastern European songs. Our members are motivated and bonded by their passion for music and singing. To share their joy of singing, SN Choir has performed in many concerts, competitions and community events over the years.

We strive to do our best in all our performances. We are blessed to have a dedicated choir conductor and teachers who are constantly supporting and guiding us, ensuring that we have interesting and varied choral experiences. It was through the many obstacles we faced that we were able to grow tremendously in our choral journey.

CCA Highlights

SYF Arts Presentation 2023 SN Choir was awarded the Certificate of Distinction. We are thankful to all who supported us throughout from the preparation to the actual day of competition. With grit and determination, the students together with our choir conductor, Ms Lim Ai Hooi presented a wonderful performance during the competition!
Choir Workshop with Mr André van der Merwe Mr André van der Merwe is a conductor and composer from Cape Town, South Africa. His choirs won many awards gobally. With his exuberant personality, Mr André has shared on singing techniques and expressions. The choir students enjoyed and learnt new ways to express themselves and benefitted much from the workshop.
Doing our part at the school National Day Celebrations SN Choir joined the school in celebrating our National Day with dance and song!
90th Anniversary AA Concert at EJC SN Choir participated at the concert for the Alumnae. It was an exciting occasion to see the many generations of the SNG family!
Choir Exchange at SNG and NYGH The 2-day exchange was a gathering of 3 girls’ choirs, namely St. Nicholas, Tanjong Katong Girls’ School and Nanyang Girls’ High School. We had the privilege to host the exchange on the first day, where the students learn how to be a good host and gain organisational skills. The students from the 3 schools perform, observe, listen and learn together. The students make friends and had fun in the activities. The exchange climaxed to a performance at the NYGH auditorium where parents were invited to watch their daughters perform. All in all, the exchange allowed our students to grow, make mistakes, affirm their strengths, cheer and support each other.
